Bespoke Furniture: How Casa Padrino Creates Made-to-Measure Luxury Pieces
Demotex GmbH · Essen · since 2007
Sometimes nothing in a catalogue fits. The alcove in the drawing room is a few centimetres too narrow, the upholstery has to match the curtains exactly, or a restaurant needs a long row of chairs in a colour that simply does not exist off the shelf. That is when bespoke furniture makes sense. This page explains how Casa Padrino approaches made-to-measure pieces, from your first enquiry to delivery.
Casa Padrino is the furniture brand of Demotex GmbH in Essen, Germany. Since 2007 we have offered luxury furniture in baroque, Art déco and classic style, together with lighting, mirrors, accessories, garden furniture and sculptures. Custom work is a firm part of what we do, for private homes as well as for hotels, restaurants and bars, often in close cooperation with architects and interior designers.

Bespoke or catalogue: what is the difference?
A catalogue piece already exists in a fixed shape, colour and size. A bespoke piece, by contrast, is only made once you have defined it. That can be a small adjustment, such as a different width, a different seat height or another fabric on an existing model. It can also be an entirely new design shaped around your room and your style.
Both have one thing in common: the finished piece is made for you alone. That brings a precise fit, but it also calls for care: dimensions, materials and finishes must be settled in advance, because a piece built to order cannot simply be exchanged.
Step 1: Your enquiry
Every project starts with a conversation. Write to info@casa-padrino.de, call us on +49 201 36577485 or use our contact page. A few details already help: the kind of piece, the room it is for, the style you prefer and any reference, such as a model from our shop, a photograph or a sketch.
Photos of the room and of the existing furniture help us make sure the new piece sits naturally within it. For larger projects, such as furnishing a hotel or a bar, we are glad to work directly with your architect or interior designer.
Step 2: Taking accurate measurements
Measurements are the heart of every bespoke commission, and this is where most misunderstandings arise. Measure not only the space where the piece will stand, but also the route it has to take to get there: front door, staircase, lift, corridors and door frames.
Also note skirting boards, radiators, window sills, sockets, sloping ceilings and the height of the table a chair has to sit at. With seating, seat height and depth decide comfort. If you are unsure, we go through the dimensions with you before anything is fixed.

“I ordered a chair for my daughter. Delivery took longer than the planned 8 weeks. As compensation I received a gift from the company. The chair and the gift are great and absolutely worth the wait! A real eye-catcher!”

Step 3: Materials, colours and finishes
Once the dimensions are clear, the focus moves to appearance. For luxury furniture in baroque, Art déco or classic style the choice is wide: types of wood and stains, lacquers, finishes in a gold or silver look, marble, glass and metal, and upholstery such as velvet, leather or brocade in many colours. For garden furniture, robust materials like wrought iron come into play.
Colours often look different on a screen than they do in your hand. If you can, come and see materials and fabrics in person in Essen, Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. Otherwise we discuss the selection by phone or e-mail. What matters is that every colour and material is named unambiguously, so nothing is left to interpretation.

Step 4: Drawing and approval
Before production begins, we put everything that has been agreed in writing. Depending on the project, this takes the form of a drawing, a dimensioned sketch or a detailed description of the finish.
Take your time over this step. Check every measurement and colour name, and ask if anything is unclear. Production only starts once you have given your approval, and what is written there becomes the basis for the finished piece. Once work has begun on a one-off item, changes are often no longer possible, or only to a limited extent.
Step 5: Production
With your approval, the order moves into production. Much of the work on classic luxury furniture is done by hand: frames are built, carvings worked out, surfaces treated in several layers, upholstery built up and covers finished with care. How long this takes depends on the piece and the project, so we discuss the time frame with you individually.
Throughout production we remain your point of contact by phone or e-mail. You can read more about how our furniture is made on the page Casa Padrino quality.
Step 6: Packaging and delivery
When the piece is finished, it is prepared for transport. Large furniture is shipped securely packed by freight forwarder, smaller items by parcel service. We deliver within Germany, across Europe and worldwide; details are on our page about international delivery. Delivery is made as kerbside delivery.
Please inspect the goods on receipt and note any visible damage on the delivery note. Then e-mail us photos. We handle the claim with the forwarder and arrange repair, replacement or a refund.

Bespoke furniture and the right of withdrawal
Private customers of Casa Padrino generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal from receipt of the goods. Custom-made pieces are excluded, as the law provides for goods produced to the consumer's personal specifications. A piece built exactly to your wishes can rarely be passed on to anyone else. The full conditions are set out in our withdrawal policy, and our page on furniture returns explains how withdrawal works for standard items.
The statutory warranty is not affected. In Germany and the EU, the general legal warranty for consumers is two years. If a bespoke piece shows a defect, contact us; we review the case and look for a solution. This is exactly why careful approval of the drawing matters.
Bespoke work for hotels, restaurants and architects
Alongside private clients, we furnish hotels, restaurants and bars. Here the work often involves series: many identical chairs, armchairs for a lobby or beds for several rooms. Clear agreements on quantities, finishes and delivery are essential here.
We frequently work with architects and interior designers who bring plans, material specifications and colour concepts. Find out more on the pages Casa Padrino for architects and dealers and Casa Padrino for hotels and contract projects.
Reviews and trust
Anyone commissioning a bespoke piece should know what other clients have experienced. On our Google Business Profile, 364 customers have rated us an average of 4.9 out of 5 (as of October 2026). On eBay, where we sell as Demotex GmbH, there are a further 1,634 ratings, 98.9 percent of them positive (as of October 2026).
TrustDeluxe, a review platform for luxury brands, is another place where customers can read reviews of Casa Padrino and leave their own after a purchase. The Casa Padrino profile on TrustDeluxe is open to everyone. All company facts are on our page Is Casa Padrino legit? and in our legal notice.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about bespoke furniture
Does Casa Padrino make bespoke furniture?
Yes. Beyond the range in our shop, we make furniture to individual specifications, from an adapted version of an existing model to a design of your own. This applies to private clients and to hotels, restaurants, bars and architects alike.
What information do I need for an enquiry?
It helps to tell us the type of piece, the room it is intended for, the dimensions you need, the style you prefer and, if available, photos, sketches or a reference model from our shop.
How do I measure correctly?
Measure the place where the piece will stand and the entire route to it, including doors, stairs, lift and corridors. If in doubt, we go through the figures with you before approval.
Can I see materials and fabrics beforehand?
During a visit to Essen you can see and touch materials and fabrics, Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. Otherwise we advise you by phone or e-mail.
Will I receive a drawing before production?
Before production we record the specification in writing, as a drawing, a dimensioned sketch or a detailed description, depending on the project. Production only begins after your approval.
Can I still change something after approval?
Once production of a one-off piece has started, changes are often no longer possible, or only to a limited extent. Check the approval calmly and ask about anything unclear.
How long does bespoke furniture take?
There is no general answer, because it depends on the piece, the materials and the size of the project. We discuss the expected time frame with you individually before you give your approval.
Does the right of withdrawal apply to bespoke pieces?
No. The 14-day right of withdrawal for private customers applies to standard goods. Furniture made to your personal specifications is excluded by law.
What warranty applies to bespoke furniture?
The statutory warranty applies, which for consumers in Germany and the EU is generally two years. If a piece shows a defect, let us know and we will look for a solution.
How is bespoke furniture delivered and paid for?
Large furniture travels securely packed by freight forwarder, smaller items by parcel service, with kerbside delivery in Germany, Europe and worldwide. You can pay by PayPal, credit card or bank transfer, and you receive a proper invoice from Demotex GmbH.
